You can park anywhere along the street at 2211 Park Place, or even across the street in the parking lot opposite Burns Machinery, somewhere far away from the other stores. We have handicapped parking in the west parking lot as well.

It might depend on how long you plan to stay. But we recommend a packed lunch and a drink with a lid.

Our entire purpose at Hallelujah Toffee is to follow Jesus, so we try to reflect that with our actions and attitudes. As a group, we stop and pray together, usually around 9 am in the morning. We will be the first to tell you that we are not perfect, but He really is and we let Him live HIs life through flawed folks like us. Another reason we say, “Hallelujah!”

We wear comfy, close-toed shoes. It can get warm in the kitchen, even in the winter, so you may want to wear layers.

We will provide you with a lovely hairnet and food-safety gloves. All cooks will wear aprons which are washed and provided to you.

Things are very casual. There is a lot of visiting while our hands are busily working. You can take a break at any time. There are restrooms downstairs and upstairs inside of the shop. Usually, there is fresh coffee and snacks too!

Folks come and go as they prefer. Generally, the volunteer shift is about 4 hours, although volunteers can stay longer or stop whenever is best for them.

There are padded seats for volunteers who want to stay seated. There are roles that require lifting and walking, if you prefer that. If you want to sit, we recommend weighing and sealing. If you want to stand, we recommend boxing.

There are team leads in each department - cooking, weighing/sealing, and boxing. Generally speaking, folks in the Hallelujah Toffee aprons and ball caps have a lot of intel. But in general, you can ask Carrie or Jim for help in any area. Jeannie is often available as well, unless she is actively cooking. But the volunteer family will have great answers too, so be brave and ask.

Of course! On their first day, it might be good if you stay with them so they can acclimate to our chaos!
